March 11 – 12, 2017
Loon Mountain, New Hampshire

Bringing together the next generation of great entrepreneurs and the next generation of great venture investors for one weekend of agenda-free fun, shredding up the New England winter slopes.

Underscore.VC’s ski weekend will be a relaxing weekend for our community to connect up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and enjoy an ‘offsite’ with no overarching business agenda. The only KPI is no broken bones. We encourage our community to bring your significant others and families along with you to share in this retreat weekend.

We will be hosted at The Mountain Club on Loon, a slopeside, ski in/out resort. On Saturday evening and Sunday morning we will host a few informal gatherings at the resort for meaningful peer connections over some hot cocoa and cocktails. We encourage you to extend your stay if you would like to arrive early or depart late – we’ll handle all the logistics and make it easy!

Richard shredding the slopes

Meet Richard Dulude, Principal & Investment Manager at Underscore.VC
(a.k.a the Ski.VC)

As a Colorado native, Richard had the good fortune to pick up skiing at an early age, and commit himself fully to it, making US Men’s Freestyle Ski Team at the age of 17 (the second youngest to date). Richard competed in college at Cornell University until 2006 where he was the first alternate on the US Men’s Freestyle Ski Team at Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.

Realizing that “the mind lasts longer than the body”, he went on to become an entrepreneur and fan/supporter of those “in the gate” as a venture capitalist, where he looks to help the next generation of great entrepreneurs and investors shred their run!

Want to take a few runs and share the lift / your ambitions with Ski.VC?!

Join us on the slopes at the inaugural Underscore.VC ski weekend!

What's the application all about?

Unfortunately we only have so many spaces and hotel rooms available so we need to have an application to make sure that we can accommodate everyone.  Assuming this year goes well, we hope to expand this even more for next year to accommodate more people!

Will you provide transportation from Boston?

Transportation to Loon Mountain is on your own.  We will try to facilitate carpools, if needed, but will not have any organized or guaranteed transportation.

Who will be attending?

We have brought together the best group of the next generation of great entrepreneurs and venture investors to join us for the weekend.  Most attendees are 20- and 30-somethings who are founders of early stage startups in Boston, emerging leaders at high-growth tech companies and up and coming venture investors.

When will you let me know if I'm accepted?

We will take a look at all interested applications as soon as they come in and will try to let you know within 3 – 4 days of your application if we still have space available.

We promise to get back to you as soon as possible and hope that we will see you on the slopes!

Once accepted, please make sure you pay and register within a few days so we don’t keep your spot on hold if you can’t join us.

What's the cost?

Underscore.VC has gotten great rates for the weekend and will subsidize costs a bit, as well as providing some meals and activities.  Hotel rooms will be $180-200 per room, lift tickets are $80 per day and rentals are $35 per day.

We tried to get the best rates possible so hopefully that works for you, or your company can cover the costs.  If you really want to join and have trouble with the cost, let us know and we will see if we can find a sponsor to subsidize the costs further.

Can I bring a +1?

Absolutely, this is a weekend of fun and we’d love for you to bring with you another outstanding friend in the Boston tech community with you.

Significant others are +1’s are always welcome, whether they work in tech, or not!

What if I don't know how to Ski or Snowboard?

Not all of us are as talented as Richard, so no worries!  You are encouraged to take a try on the bunny slopes or get a lesson and learn how to pizza and french fries.

That said, the mountain club has a spa and bar and plenty of other activities to keep you occupied during the day if getting on the mountain isn’t for you.  There is probably wifi somewhere too if you need to catchup on emails and hack… but that’s not encouraged this weekend!

Who do I contact with additional questions?

For any questions just email Cory Bolotsky, community manager at Underscore.VC, at!
